In this issue:

thoughts you should know...
...are you working too hard?

Ever find yourself feeling tired, run-down, out of gas? Maybe you’ve been working too hard?

Well, sorry pal, we now have proof that you, in fact, have NOT been working too hard. Though someone in America is indeed seriously overworked, that someone is not you. Read on:

The population of the US is 273 million. Of that, 140 million are retired. This leaves 133 million to do the work.

There are 85 million people in schools. This leaves 48 million to do the work.

Of this number, 29 million are employed by the federal government. This leaves 19 million to do the work.

2.8 million are in the armed forces, leaving 16.2 million to do the work.

14.8 million work for state and city governments, i.e., 1.4 million left to do the work.

At any given time, 188,000 people are in hospitals, leaving a total of 1,212,000 to do all the work.

However, 1,211,998 people are in our prisons! Using simple math, we find that that this fact leaves just TWO people to do the work. Those two folks are you and I.

And there you sit, relaxing at your computer, reading this message, leaving only ME, not you, to do all the work…

Man, I’m exhausted.

Ken Lizotte, Chief Imaginative Officer, emersongroup

Such authors end up missing out on their article’s most powerful benefits. To learn why, see “10 Common Mistakes Made by People Who Publish an Article” by emersongroup summer 2006 intern Amanda Miller.
