Publishing Books, Publishing Articles

Two in-depth seminars in one day!

TBA

booksYou know that you’ve got a great idea in you.

Maybe it’s a short and sweet article idea or a more in-depth book idea. You’ll get around to getting it published, you say.

Don’t put it off any longer!

Publishing can be a tough business, but there is no greater feeling or rush than seeing your name quoted or in the byline.

Getting published is an especially useful tool for business professionals, who can use their published works as leverage for gaining client work, speaking engagements, and credibility.

If you don’t know where to start, you’re in luck! emerson consulting group offers two same-day seminars, one running in the morning, one running in the afternoon, that will outfit you with the knowledge and tools you’ll need for publishing your first article and/or book. You can sign up for our Publishing Books Seminar, our Publishing Articles Seminar, or both, depending on your publishing goals.

These seminars are ideal if you’re just starting out and eager to gain insight into the publishing world from seasoned professionals. Each seminar will leave you with a deeper understanding of how “the publishing game” works, and how you can implement your own plan of action to bring your own unique goals to fruition.

Ken LizottePresenter Ken Lizotte CMC is author of The Expert’s Edge: Become the Go-To Authority that People Turn to Every Time (McGraw-Hill) and four other books. He’s published hundreds of articles including blogs and columns for the American Management Association and Boston Magazine. He’s a co-founder of the National Writers Union. As the CIO (Chief Imaginative Officer) of emersongroup, he also has years of experience helping non-fiction clients get their work published in strategic places.

Book Seminar

You’ve always wanted to write a book, but the process seems overwhelming! Should you write a book? Do you know enough to write a book? What’s this rabble about self-publishing versus commercial/traditional publishing? Do you need an agent? Where do you begin?

Your own book will organize your thoughts and communicate that hard-earned insight and wisdom you’ve been developing and honing over the years. A book is also a “credibility tool” that you can show to customers, clients, prospects and colleagues. It will raise your profile and lift you above your competition, paving the way for new opportunities and higher levels of professional success.

In the Book Seminar we’ll cover…ChanceBook

  • Publishing myths and misconceptions
  • Why write a book?
  • What to expect from a traditional publisher
  • Will they pay me lots of money?
  • How to write a book proposal
  • How to find publishers for your book
  • How to manage your time
  • Is self-publishing right for you?
  • Writing a book that’s appealing to publishers but that’s true to you
  • Keeping the rejection monster at bay

jvogt_sm“Ken Lizotte and emerson consulting group have helped keep my consulting practice healthy thanks to such actions as: helping me write and publish articles regularly (in print and web venues) that I use daily in marketing my practice; supporting me in creating a regular e-newsletter that my clients love (the single smartest marketing move I’ve ever made); finding me a publisher so that I could publish my first book… and dream about publishing more! I’ve recommended Ken and his team with enthusiasm to the many colleagues who have asked ‘How did you do this?” — Jay Vogt, Peoplesworth
